About Nitrogen Gas
Chemical element Nitrogen, having symbol "N" is a common element in atmosphere, which is colourless and odourless diatomic gas constituting 78% of earth’s atmosphere. We get Nitrogen through the process of fractional distillation of liquid air in a cryogenic air separation unit; a process that separates liquid nitrogen from liquid oxygen.
Nitrogen is widely used in various industries in varied applications. However, it is most commonly used for its low reactive chemical property. Apart from this, Nitrogen is used in scientific research, as carrier agent to displace oxygen to prevent oxidization and in laboratory equipments. Apart from these industrial uses, nitrogen could also be used as less expensive substitute of argon.
Purity of High Purity Grade (Grade-1) Nitrogen
This grade nitrogen is the highly pure nitrogen but not the highest as compared to other grade of nitrogen gas. The Nitrogen content of Grade-1 nitrogen comprises of 99.9991%. Though, it is widely used in the process of Laser application, yet, it is also not recommended for laboratory purposes.
